Henry County Senior Services is offering a free kayaking outing on Friday, Aug. 28, 2026, with participants meeting at noon at the South Martinsville River Access.
The outing is part of the county's Senior Kayaking Adventures program, which gives older adults a chance to explore local waterways with trusted guides and fellow participants. The program guide lists the excursion for the fourth Friday of the month and says pre-registration is required.
Participants should bring their own kayak, paddle and life jacket. The Aug. 28 trip is free, but space and conditions may affect the outing, so residents should call Henry County Senior Services at 276-634-4644 to register and confirm details before heading to the river.
