Recognized as Certified Law Enforcement Command Executive

MARTINSVILLE, Va. — There’s a lot more to leading a police department than wearing a uniform and carrying a badge — and Martinsville Police Captain Ben Peters has now earned recognition for his leadership.

The Martinsville Police Department is congratulating Peters after he was recognized as a Certified Law Enforcement Command Executive by the Virginia Association of Chiefs of Police.

The certification recognizes law enforcement leaders who have demonstrated professional development and leadership skills necessary to serve in command-level positions.

For the Martinsville Police Department, the recognition is another accomplishment for one of its command staff members.

The department says the honor reflects Peters' commitment to professional leadership and continued service to the Martinsville community.
