Danville's riverfront redevelopment momentum picked up another statewide citation when Virginia Business named Dan River Falls a 2026 Top Project.
The City of Danville announcement says Dan River Falls is one of 18 projects selected in the inaugural Virginia Top Projects and Real Estate Deals awards program. The project is the 550,000-square-foot White Mill redevelopment led by the city and the Alexander Company.
The former Dan River Mills textile factory has been converted into a mixed-use destination with office, commercial and residential space. Current users named by the city include more than 270 residents, Dewberry, the Danville Office of Economic Development, and Danville Parks and Recreation.
The recognition matters locally because it keeps Danville's riverfront reuse story in front of statewide business and real estate audiences. The city and development partners are scheduled to be recognized July 28 at a Virginia Business awards celebration in Midlothian.
